Maine Track At Valentines Invitational

Boston, Mass. - The University of Maine men's and women's track teams competed in the Valentines Invitational hosted by Boston University over the weekend. The men's top finisher was Anthony Morgan in the weight throw, while the top finisher for the women was Stephanie McCusker in the triple jump.

In the women's meet, Kathryn Souviney (East Vassalboro, Maine) was tenth in the preliminaries of the 55 meter hurdles in 8.38. Erin Hatch (Saco, Maine) was eleventh overall in the high jump, clearing 1.63 meters. Hana Pelletier (Belgrade, Maine) was sixteenth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:16.24. In the triple jump, Stephanie McCusker (Lisbon, Maine) was eighth, going 11.39 meters. McCusker was also twenty-first in the long jump at 5.02 meters. In the weight throw, Clarissa Michalak (Cumberland, Maine) was nineteenth overall with a throw of 13.35 meters.

For the men, in the 800 meters Scott O'Connor (East Greenville, Pa.) was sixteenth with a time of 1:54.39. Jeff Caron (Auburn, Maine) was twelfth in the 3000 meters in 8:27.68, and was followed by Mike Lansing (Lovell, Maine) in sixteenth place in 8:29.54. In the high jump, Christopher Warren (Woburn, Mass.) was fifteenth, clearing 1.88 meters. Jesse Ludwig (South Portland, Maine) was nineteenth in the long jump, going 6.30 meters. In the weight throw, Anthony Morgan (South Berwich, Maine) was sixth overall with a throw of 16.11 meters.
