Men's and Women's Track Compete at ECAC and IC4A Championships

Boston, Mass. - The University of Maine men'strack team competed at the ECAC Indoor Championships at Boston University and women's track team competed at the IC4A Indoor Championships hosted at Northeastern University over the weekend. While only the women's team scored a point, several individuals had strong performances.

For the women, Kathryn Souviney (East Vassalboro, Maine) finished eighth overall in the pentathlon with 3274 points. Hana Pelletier ( Belgrade, Maine) finished fifteenth in the preliminaries of the 800 meters with a time of 2:12.47.

On the men's side of the meet, Mike Lansing (Lovell, Maine) was thirteenth in the 3000 meters with a time of 8:21.93, while Jeff Caron (Auburn, Maine) had a time of 8:40.93 for twenty-sixth place. In the mile, Paul Rupprecht (Yonkers, N.Y.) was twentieth with a time of 4:21. 98. In the 800 meters, Scott O'Connor (East Greenville, Pa.) was fifteenth in 1:53.65, while Donald Drake (Portland, Maine) was right behind in seventeenth place at 1:53.71. Anthony Morgan (South Berwick, Maine) finished seventeenth in the weight throw at 16.49 meters.
