![]() Men's and Women's Track Compete at Northridge Ivitational

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - The University of Maine men's and women's outdoor track teams competed in their first outdoor track event of the season on Saturday. The Northridge Invitational was held on the campus of the University of California-Northridge. Three members of the men's team and four members of the women's team traveled the 3,000 miles for the invitational. On the women's side, Vanessa Letourneau was the highest finishing UMaine woman with a fourth place finish in the 800m run with a time of 2:19.80. Stephanie Jette followed right behind her with fifth in the same event with a time of 2:20.35. Vicki Tolton took sixth in the 400m dash with a time of 56.88. Allyson Howatt finished seventh in the 100m dash with a time of 12.30. Max Ludwig and Skip Edwards tied for the highest finishing Black Bear, each taking seventh in their event. Ludwig took the spot in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.13. Edwards took seventh in the 400m dash with a time of 49.38. Edwards also competed in the 200m dash and finished ninth with a time of 22.23. Matthew Holman finished ninth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 55.29. Holman also competed in the 400m dash and finished 20th. The Black Bear men's and women's teams return to action on March 29th when they host an outdoor meet against the University of New Hampshire.
