![]() Track Takes Part in Wildcat Invitational III

DURHAM, N.H. - The University of Maine men's and women's outdoor track teams participated in the third Wildcat Invitational of the season hosted by the University of New Hampshire. The Black Bears were led by Clarissa Michalak and Jeff Caron, who won individual events in the meet. For the women, Clarissa Michalak (Cumberland, Maine) took first place in the hammer throw with a distance of 50.62 meters. Katelyn Andrle (Clifton, Maine) was third in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:07.75. In the 3000 meter steeplechase, Jessica Hudec (Chicago, Ill.) was second in 12:19.16, Erin Lawler (Waterville, Maine) was third in 12:27.59 and Nerissa Gross (Lisbon, Maine) was fourth in 12:45.17. Chelsea Thibeault (Oakland, Maine) was fourth in the 100 meters in 13.61. The Black Bears added a third place finish in the 4x100 meter relay. In the triple jump, Carly Bunyan (Troy, Nova Scotia) was fourth, jumping 10.51 meters. Micralyn Wiechman (Buxton, Maine) was second in the shot put at 12.29 meters and added a third place finish in the discus at 36.90 meters. Maegan Burke (Kennebunk, Maine) was third in the shot put with a throw of 11.81 meters and Kayla Rubin (Sanford, Maine) was fourth in the javelin at 33.34 meters. In the men's meet, Jeff Caron (Auburn, Maine) was first in the 5000 meters with a time of 14:49.06 and Kirby Davis (Falmouth, Maine) was second in 14:52.99. Christopher Warren (Woburn, Mass.) was fourth in the 110 meter hurdles in 15.89. In the 3000 meter steeplechase, Tyler Littlefield (York, Maine) was second in 10:09.78 and Jonathan McGonagle (Portland, Maine) was a close third in 10:09.80. In the triple jump, Benjamin Toothaker (Hampden, Maine) was third with a jump of 11.78 meters.
