Track and Field Teams Return to Action on Friday

Jan. 9, 2009

ORONO, Maine--The University of Maine men's and women's indoor track and field teams return to action on Friday at the Dartmouth Relays after last competing at New Hampshire on Dec. 13.

The women's team will be looking to improve on a solid beginning to the season as Jesse Labreck (Oakland, Maine) was named America East Performer of the Week following the meet in which she won two events and was runner-up in a third.

Rebecca Even (Stoneham, Maine) had a great meet, as she had one of the all-time top school performances in the 20-pound weight throw, with a distance of 52 feet and two inches.

On the men's side, Kurt Thibeault (Lewiston, Maine) is coming off a victory in the 400 meter dash against New Hampshire.
