Track and Field Athletes Host Students From Hichborn School

ORONO, Maine--The University of Maine track and field teams hosted students from Hichborn Middle School on Thursday afternoon, and gave them a sample of events and exercises performed by some of the best Division I athletes in the country. The students were able to compete in games while learning proper techniques. The students ran a sprint, jumped over small hurdles, practiced a short relay event, threw the shot put and ran up stairs. Despite the wet conditions, the Maine track athletes were excited to be able to put on a fun event for the students from Hichborn. -U-M-
