Player Profile

Position:
Assistant Coach

Amy Schreiber enters her third season as an assistant coach at the University of Maine. During her first two seasons as an assistant at Maine, Schreiber helped guide the Black Bears to back-to-back appearances in the America East Tournament. She helped lead the team to a berth in the 2004 finals and an appearance in the 2005 semifinals. Prior to those appearances, the Black Bears had qualified for the conference tournament just once in program history.

Schreiber serves as the recruiting coordinator for the program and the freshman class of the 2005 season produced a pair of players who were named to the America East All-Rookie team. Lindsay Allman and Amy Lawson were among the league leaders in digs and blocks, respectively, and thus were named to the league's rookie squad.

Prior to Maine, she was an assistant coach at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, working with head coach Lynn Atherley. Schreiber was involved in all aspects of the Edinboro program, including maintaining and organizing the entire recruiting process.

Prior to working at Edinboro, Schreiber was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington. On the court, she worked primarily with middle and outside hitters and she also worked extensively with video analysis.

She began her coaching career as head volleyball coach at University High School in Carmel, Ind., for two seasons. Her experience also includes work with the Circle City Volleyball Club in Indianapolis and the Indy Juniors Volleyball Club in Zionsville, Ind.

In college, she was a one-year letterman on the IUPUI volleyball team. She transfered from Mercer University, where she was a three-year captain of the volleyball team. Schreiber is a 2003 graduate of the IUPUI School of Public and Environmental Affairs. She lives in Orono.
