Volleyball Falls to 0-3 in Conference Play

Vestal, NY - The University of Maine volleyball team lost in three sets to the University of Binghamton. The Black Bears (7-10, 0-3 AE) fell in the first set 14-25 and was never able to rebound. The Bearcats (8-11, 3-0 AE) took the next two sets 16-25 and 19-25 to seal the win. Lindsay Allman (St. Louis, Mo.) led Maine with eight kills and 14 digs. Jessica Wolfenden (Ottawa, Ontario) had a team-high 26 assists to fuel the Black Bear attack. Utilizing those assists, Amy Lawson (Coeur D'Alene, Id.) tied with Allman for the team-high with eight kills. Brittany Keihl (Virginia Beach, Va.) led Maine with a .278 attack percentage as she added six kills and the team's lone solo block. Ashlee Wright (Muncie, Ind.) contributed with six digs. Binghamton was led by Michelle McDonough (Orland Hills, Ill.) with 14 kills. Maine returns home on Friday, October 17, as they seek their first America East win against visiting Stony Brook at 7 pm. --UM--
