Volleyball Falls to Binghamton 3-2

VESTAL, N.Y.--The University of Maine volleyball team fell 3-2 to Binghamton University on Friday night in Vestal, N.Y. The Black Bears fall to 6-9 on the season and 3-1 in America East play, while Binghamton improves to 13-9, 5-0 on the campaign.

Binghamton won the match 20-30, 30-20, 30-27, 28-30 and 15-11.

Leah Guidinger (Prince Albert, Saskatchewan) led the way for Maine with a .317 hitting percentage. She recorded 18 kills on 41 total attacks. Shannan Fotter (Riverside, Calif.) recorded a team-high 21 kills for the Black Bears.

Shelly Seipp (Spokane, Wash.) has a match-high 60 assists for the Black Bears. She also led the team with three service aces. She also recorded 12 digs in the match.

Jody Connacher (Spokane, Wash.) had 18 digs, while Lindsay Allman (Fenton, Mo.) chipped in with 14 for the Black Bears.

Kaili Jordan (Raymore, Saskatchewan) led Maine with four block assists in the match, while Fotter had three.

The Black Bears return to action on Sunday, October 16 when they travel to Stony Brook for an America East contest beginning at 1:00 p.m.
