Volleyball Gets 3-1 Win Over Hartford

Orono, Maine - The University of Maine volleyball team got their second consecutive conference win with a 3-1 victory over visiting Hartford. The Hawks (5-18, 0-5 AE) took the first set 18-25. The Black Bears (9-10, 2-3 AE) responded by reeling off three wins in a row to take the match by scores of 25-13, 25-12 and 25-17. Lindsay Allman (St. Louis, Mo.) led Maine with 14 kills, 14 digs and a .400 hitting percentage. Amy Lawson (Coeur D'Alene, Idaho) joined Allman in the attack, tallying 12 kills and five total blocks. Jessica Wolfenden (Ottawa, Ont.) set them up with 30 assists, 11 digs and five block assists. Brittany Kiehl (Virginia Beach, Va.) had another solid game for the Black Bears as she totaled seven kills and four block assists. Ashlee Wright (Muncie, Ind.) served five aces and had four digs. With the win, Maine remains tied for fourth place in the America East conference with rival New Hampshire. The Black Bears return to the court on Friday, October 24, when they welcome the Wildcats to Orono at 5 pm.
