However, Binghamton responded and score nine of the final 10 points in the game to take the first set 32-30.
The Bearcats jumped out to a 17-4 lead in game two and never looked back in earning the win. Maine regrouped in the third game and pulled out a 30-26 win. A pair of kills from Armstrong to open the game got the Black Bears rolling. The Beacats knotted the game at 18, but Maine used a 6-1 run to open its lead up to 24-19. Binghamton got to within 27-26, but the Black Bears scored the final three points, including a kill from Allman, to win the game.
The fourth game was also closely contested as Maine held a slim 24-23 late in the contest. However, the Bearcats outscored Maine 7-4 the rest of the way to earn the win in the game and the match. |
