Black Bears Topple UNH

Oct. 26, 2004

DURHAM, N.H. - Junior Kaili Jordan (Raymore, Saskatchewan) recorded 12 kills and 18 digs as the University of Maine volleyball team defeated New Hampshire, 3-1 (30-27,30-27, 22-30, 30-20), Tuesday evening at Lundholm Gymnasium. The Black Bears improve to 13-9 overall and 5-3 in the America East while UNH drops to 6-17 and 2-5 in league action.

Senior Carmen Morgan (Watson, Saskatchewan) led Maine with 14 kills. Junior Leah Guidinger (Prince Albert, Saskatchewan) added 10 kills and sophomore Shelly Seipp (Spokane, Wash.) had a match-high 48 assists. Sophomore Jody Connacher (Spokane, Wash.) chipped in with 17 digs.

The Wildcats were paced by Toni Barnas, who had 19 kills, and Katie Weidner, who registered 44 helpers. Erin Walker tallied 10 kills and 12 digs.

Maine continues its five-match conference road swing on Friday, playing UMBC at 7 p.m.
