![]() Maine Hosts Murray Keatinge Cross Country Invitational

ORONO, Maine - The University of Maine hosted the 14th Annual McDonald's Murray Keatinge Cross Country Invitational on Saturday on the Maine cross country course. In the men's race, Maine finished fifth overall, while Maine was seventh in the women's race. Top finishers for the Black Bears were Kirby Davis for the men and Heather Jovanelli for the women. Overall, Stanford won the men's and women's titles. In the men' race, Dartmouth's Ben True won with a time of 23:59.10. He was followed by David Vidal of Stanford in 24:00.00. Stanford had seven of the top ten finishers, while Dartmouth had three of the ten fastest times. For the women, Stanford's Arianna Lambie took first place with a time of 16:38.30. Stanford had four of the top ten times, while Boston College had four of the top ten times. Stanford won the men's meet for the fourth time and the women's race for the third time. For Maine, the top men's finisher was Kirby Davis (Falmouth, Maine) with a time of 24:38.40 to finish 18th overall. Donald Drake (Portland, Maine) was 19th overall with a time of 24:39.60. Joshua Trevino (Rochester, N.H.) was 25th overall in 25:08.20. Also scoring points for Maine were Paul Rupprecht (Yonkers, N.Y.) in 50th place with a time of 26:02.80, David Woods (York, Maine) in 59th place with a time of 26:20.80, David Englehutt (Dartmouth, Nova Scotia) in 26:49.00 for 67th place overall and Jon McGonagle (Portland, Maine) in 27:04.80 in 72nd place.
The top women's finisher for the Black Bears was Heather Jovanelli (Brewer, Maine) who was 22nd overall with a time of 18:04.60. Hana Pelletier (Belgrade, Maine) was 33rd overall with a time of 18:54.30. Shelby Howe (Columbia, Maine) finished in 19:33.90 for 51st overall and Teig Choroszy (Saco, Maine) was 54th in 19:43.70. Also scoring points for Maine were Lauren LaRoche (Auburn, Maine) in 56th place with a time of 19:45.20, Kristen Vidlak (Thunder Bay, Ontario) in 63rd with a time of 19:57.90 and Erin Lawler (Waterville, Maine) in 66th place in 20:08.10. Next up for the Black Bears will be the New England Championships, held on October 8 in Boston's Franklin Park.
