Cross Country Competes at Murray Keatinge

ORONO, Maine--The University of Maine men's and women's cross country teams placed fifth and sixth, respectively, at the Murray Keatinge Invitational hosted by the University of Maine on Saturday morning. Miles Bartlett (Casco, Maine) led the men's team with a sixth place finish while Corey Conner (Townsend, Mass.) led the women's team with a 12th place finish. Duke repeated as the women's team champion while Dartmouth was crowned the men's team champion. On the men's side, Bartlett completed the five mile men's course in a time of 25:11.23. Riley Masters (Bangor, Maine) came in 26th with a time of 25:46.26 and Corey Bean (Cornville, Maine) placed 36th with a time of 26:06.06. Ben True (North Yarmouth, Maine), a former standout at Greely High School, was the men's winner in a time of 23:57.79. On the women's side, Conner ran the 5k women's course in 18:25.37. Hilary Maxim (Old Town, Maine) placed 26th with a time of 18:43.44 and Chelsea Leeman (Brunswick, Maine) came in 38th with a time of 19:03.35. Kimberly Povec from New Hampshire won the women's race in a time of 18:05.38. The Cross Country teams return to action Saturday at the New Englands in Boston, Mass.
