Cross Country Competes at New England Championships

BOSTON, Mass.--The University of Maine men's and women's cross country teams placed 16th and 20th, respectively, at the New England Cross Country Championships at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass. The men's field consisted of 47 teams and 316 runners while the women's field had 45 teams and 301 runners. Leading the way for the women's team was Corey Conner (Townsend, Mass.) who came in 43rd with a time of 18:44. Chelsea Leeman (Brunswick, Maine) came in 104th with a time of 19:29 and Stephanie Jette (Lovell, Maine) finished in 132nd with a time of 19:49. On the men's side, Riley Masters (Bangor, Maine) placed 55th with a time of 25:41 to lead the Black Bears. Miles Bartlett (Casco, Maine) came in 69th with a time of 25:53 and Christopher Harmon (Scarborough, Maine) placed 114th with a time of 26:24. The cross country teams return to action on Nov.1 at the America East Championships in Baltimore, Md.
