Black Bear Cross OCuntry Finishes at NCAA Regionals

NEW YORK, N.Y.. - Coming off winning the America East Championship, the Black Bear men's cross country team finished 14th overall at the NCAA Regionals and the women's team finished 24th overall. For the men, Jeff Caron led Maine with a time of 31:54.3 and a 27th overall finish. For the women, Hana Pelletier led the Black Bears with a time of 22:52.0 and a 70th overall finish. Jeff Caron (Auburn, Maine) covered the 10,000 meter course in 31:53.3 to lead the Black Bears. The next finisher for Maine was Donald Drake (Portland, Maine) in 32:35.6. Following Drake were Kirby Davis (Falmouth, Maine) and Andy Caron (Topsham, Maine) in 32:47.8 and 32:48.5 respectively. Also scoring for the Black Bears were Jon McGonagle (Portland, Maine) and Paul Rupprecht (Yonkers, N.Y.) with times of 34:17.9 and 35:20.9. For the women's team, Hana Pelletier (Belgrade, Maine) was the first Black Bear finisher with a time of 22:52.0. Charlotte Howley (Wilton, Maine) was the next finisher with a time of 24:05.2. Shelby Howe (Columbia, Maine) and Teig Choroszy (Saco, Maine) came in with times of 24:23.9 and 24:24.2 respectively. Miranda Szwec (Bangor, Maine) and Erin Lawler (Waterville, Maine) rounded out the Black Bear finishers with times of 24:33.5 and 25:56.8. For complete meet results, please check www.ncaasports.com.
