 Maine Sweeps America East Cross Country Honors For Second Straight Week
Sept. 26, 2006 BOSTON, Mass. - University of Maine's Kirby Davis (Falmouth, Maine) and Jessica Belliveau (Quispamsis, New Brunswick) have been named the America East Men's and Women's Cross Country Performers of the Week, respectively, for the second week in a row. The awards were announced by the conference office on Tuesday, September 26. In a meet on Saturday against Massachusetts and Boston College, Davis finished second overall with a time of 25:13 on the 8k course at Massachusetts. The Black Bears were second in the meet, defeating Boston College. Belliveau finished fourth overall with a time of 18:38 on the 5k course at Massachusetts. Competing against Massachusetts and Boston College, Belliveau helped the Black Bears to a second place finish defeating Massachusetts. The Black Bears will be at home on September 30 for the McDonalds Murray Keatinge Invitational. The men's race begins at 10:00 am and the women's race starts at 11:00 am, with both races beginning on the practice fields and ending in Alfond Stadium.
